30 May 2016

Time: 5.32PM
Place: Burnaby Airbnb in Vancouver

Today is considered a really chill day? Was supposed to sleep in and otot 'cause Tomio (Nat's friend) needs to settle some stuffs but last minute decision to join them and sacrifice some sleep. Headed back into the CBD area, had some hot chocolate and croissants and got some stamps for my postcards. Stamps here in Canada are really expensive :-( But anyway it was a good trip out, don't wanna waste any precious time here. Should explore as much as I can.

Currently super chill in our house, went to finish up some more postcards and then I finally completed episode 19 of Healer (?!). I know I took damn long to finish dramas haha. To the point I lost the feel for it sometimes. Oh gosh I still haven't finish DOTS.

Really love to chill and just do your own things. The past few weeks of travelling had been pretty eventful and most of the time the time left to do things like this is pretty limited. So today is a good day, just living in a nice house. Yeah, I really like airbnb because it is like "window shopping" for the kind of house and life you want in the future. It's like trial and error. And getting inspirations and ideas, and actually living in them. Best part about airbnb hehe. But sigh, to get an equivalent lifestyle here back in Singapore requires you to be pretty rich man. Like, this could be the norm here in Vancouver but back in Singapore it is pretty limited, if you get what I mean.

Just less than a week to go before this grad trip officially ends and I return back to SG. Fast and furious, moving in waves after waves after waves.

22 May 2016 Sunday / Canmore, Alberta, Canada

Today's a chill day! Woke up at around 10am to the smell of egg omelettes and toasts, prepared by Gim. After our hearty breakfast, we headed out to explore some of the trails available. It was snowing rain hahaha pretty cool. It was about 1-2 Degrees but it didn't feel as cold as San Francisco, because there isn't any wind hehe.

Oh by the way, our airbnb is super nice! Even nicer than the one at Morro Bay actually, this one is like my ideal home design. My future house will resemble such chill and cozy vibes, except maybe with brighter lights? Haha.

My photos don't do justice to the place. Haha only a video does but I only have it on my snapchat.

Our breakfast today prepared by Gim! I topped it up with toasts with nutella banana to finish up our bruised bananas.

Dinner last night at 11PM hahaha. It was so good because I was so famished. The rostis rocked though. Thanks to Gim for preparing so many different varieties from limited ingredients. And yay I'm so glad we bought cabbages hehe my favourite.

So we drove out to visit some lakes but the weather was really bad. Cloudy and snowy and there was a slight blizzard.

Imagine having your cottage beside a lake as clear as this. You can go waddle during summer.

Why do you have to appear in my dream?

in the best airbnb ever

Didn't expect my first post about my grad trip to be done so randomly. I'm currently in Morro Bay, California, one of the stops in our road trip en route to San Francisco! I guess blogging takes time and the feels to get started. This airbnb is perfect for me to begin.

Check this out guys. This view is so amazing and I just feel like I can do a lot here. It's literally #livingroomgoals  Big windows and all, with just the right amount of sunshine at the right time. All my favourites in one.

The view of the beach and cliff is so therapeutic too, somehow it reminds me of Bergen where I can see the sea and mountains every day, freely.

The host is a really cool guy who collects many different unique things. Look at these swords, they not only look expensive, they look antique like the ones I saw in palace museums omg. And on this dining table there is this really intricate accessory featuring tiny swords all into one. I don't really know how to describe but it just shows how detail-oriented our host is! There are many other objects in the house too that are unique and interesting in the details. Kinda reminds me of myself haha is this how my house will be next time? I hope. Unique and intricate stuffs in corners of my home.

This kitchen resembles a kitchen in my imagination from a book I read last time. I just love kitchens with bar stools and check out that collection of coffees and what I realised to be different flavoured syrups on the right. So cool.

Iphone photo captures such chill feels.

:') I love how everything feels right now. So glad I found this gem.

Edit: 12.38AM

We had dinner prepared by Chef Gim and his assistants HAHA. The menu of the day was Aglio Olio with tentalising wafts of onions fried in olive oil. To top it up we added a fried egg, with very runny yolk.

Not bad eh?

Thanks Chef Gim and the host for providing us with such well-equipped kitchen! He even has fresh parsley in his fridge.

I also tried the soda water that the host seems to be really into. Tried his recommendation of Coconut + Mango soda water. It was an interesting and refreshing beverage.

Ah #kitchengoals too. I wish my kitchen next time can be as well equipped as this. The host has everything! Shaved ice maker, waffles maker (those thick belgian waffles kind), carbonated water maker (?), coffee maker stocked full of flavoured capsules, what else... I can't remember but it was just so cool. You'll feel like a chef and baker and whatever you can name it with such well-equipped kitchen.

Also just bathed and watched this korean movie on netflix.
This is just perfect.
I just looked up to the sky and I can see the moon and a plane flying by.

Same species, different lives.

good read

It’s eating well and exercising because you are a human with a body and life is objectively better when you make the most of being a human with a body. Life is doing stuff. Life is work.
Work towards what makes you feel alive, not away from it.

right where it started / 2016

March 2016

2 March / formal presentations which i do enjoy sometimes. the amount of presentations I had this semester is pretty intense, to the point it almost became second nature - visualising and preparing powerpoint slides, preparing script at the same time, add animations, rehearse and make adjustments...

My favourite food in the whole of NUS? Laksa yong tau foo from the Deck. I think second goes to Hwang's 'cause who doesn't love korean ramen. Oh wait, business school's Reedz Cafe comes second although pricier.

March 3 / when pam came to visit and study :-)

This perfectly describes what I've been feeling very strongly about :-) Very nicely put.

hi i'm chubby bunny

From the terrarium making workshop *i have green fingers*

Eusoff Fiesta!

:-) Nothing can take away my love for team sports, taking team photos, playing and just havin' fun

Thank you Eusoff.
I feel happy that I get to make friends with more people than I expected. At the same time, I also feel sad because we've gotten really close and yet it's time to leave again.
